Happy Halloween!!!

Today is Halloween, though it looks and feels more like Christmas, or some time in December, I woke up and it was -11 and there is so much snow on the ground I don't even know what to do with myself. I had a meeting at 8:30 to discuss the interviews that will be happening for the director of external affairs role on res council. I get to help out with the process, I am curious as to how it will go. My classes today were okay. I got back my Canada Journal and I am on the right track which is good and I am now (after some more work ) on my 21st page and I still need to elaborate on the ideas. It only needs to be a minimum of 25 pages so I am almost there, yay! Social Geography was also okay Pop and Com was alright, we are now starting to talk about community Ecology, which should be an interesting switch, we also go our midterms back and I did not do as awesome as I would have liked, I did okay, I got 81ish% which is ok. After class Elaine and I went to the gym and killed our legs and abs with exercises, My legs were like Jello afterwards. Then i quickly got to meet Nicole (the woman I will be house sitting for)'s boyfriend, and then it was up to res to try and be productive I showered, worked on my Canada Journal Had dinner and ate way too much Candy, way, way too much, and I will be going to bed soon, I'm tired and lonely as Katie is in Vanderhoof with Kris. Night!

Hmm what did I do today

I left earlier than normal as I was planning on meeting up with Elaine at 8 so we could go over our plant Eco presentation one more time.
It went well, we decided that we were going to do somewhat of an interpretive dance in order to explain mixitrophy and mycohetertrophy.

The tutorial went well though I had issues staying awake. I had even more issues staying awake and coherent in wildlife ecology, I felt bad. I'm not even sure what we covered today.

The came time for the dreaded plant ecology presentation, Elaine and I were up first and I think that it went well, people seemed amused but our acting out if our definitions that involved candy and volunteers haha

After plant Eco Elaine and I went to the gym for groove, we got there a bit early so we decided to dance gangam style while we were waiting.
Groove was good, it was Halloween themed, we danced to the monster mash and thriller and such

After that we went to the farmers market and then went over our wildlife ecology assignment

Then we parted ways, I went to res and completed my social geography assignment and typed up my wildlife ecology notes and had a rather productive evening

I plan on going to bed earlyish as I did not sleep well last night

I kinda forgot

So forgot about my blog yesterday and remember as I was going to sleep and decided that I would write it in the morning

My day was pretty normal, went to class.
Got my proposal b k in social geography ad I hit full marks

After class I went on a but of a poster copying spree, did my are you taking care of you newsletter, my stress relief tip posters and my poster for self care night which is a week from today, so many posters

I was also on call and nothing eventful happened with that.

I worked on various homework things, Elaine came over to go over our presentation, which went well. I work on my wildlife ecology assignment, my visual geo graphs film assignment etc.

Liz, Jeremy and kris all came over and hung out, we even played settlers for a bit before Katie and I has to go to the RLT meeting

The meeting was good, would have den done by just after 10, but our team building activity made us go till just after 10:30, which is alright as I was on call and had to be up until 11 anyways

Rounds were quiet and I took the opportunity to put up posters and slide newsletters under doors, now I just have to do keyoh.

I went to bed at around 11:30 an sadly did not sleep well

A rather lazy sunday

This morning I was up around 9, but didnt get out of bed until 11ish and I thought I could have stayed in bed all day, but i didnt Moved out of bed and on to the couch with a blankey and drank tea an watched rugrats, Katie awoke and was being an awesome girlfriend and started making breakfast for Kris, and I got to eat some of the waffles Eventually I went down to the school to meet with Elaine to work on our plant Ecology Assignment which took about 2 hours for us to finish and go through once, then I went back up to res and wasnt all that productive, I ended up getting picked up by AJ at around 5, he had offered to make me dinner. We went to his place and I was given the grand tour and we watched some episodes of the IT crowd, while he was making dinner, I had never seen the show before but it was actually quite funny. I also offered to help make dinner, but he did not want me help, he did it all by himself (so proud), and it actually turned out pretty good, he made salmon, and a pasta veggie things, all in all it was the best (and only) dinner a guy had ever cooked for me, I was also quite hungry, which made it better, We then hung out and watched SuperBad and talked about stuff... eventually he had to take me home because he had laundry to fold and work in the morning, and I do have class and such in the morning and sleep is generally helpful. He dropped me off, but on the drive over, he told me that next time I would be driving, he drives standard and knows that I need to practice, if/when I drive his car though I'm going to be nervous, his car is all shiny and new looking... we will see what happens. Night!

Halloween celebration!

Today I tried to wake up early and go to the lab,
Ended up going there at 10, stayed for 2.5 hours

Res challenge kind of sucked, no one from our floor cane out, it was depressing :(

Went to the 94c Halloween dance thing, sadly not worth the 30$, Liz Elaine and I wanted to leave but getting a BA would have taken awhile, lucky for Us AJ offered to pick us up

He dropped off Liz and Elaine and then we hung out, did some drifting and off roading in his civic, talked, creeped on people, eventfully I got out of the car, sadly I couldn't invite him to join as it was guest pass night and he did not have a pass

This morning I woke up and I wasn't feeling well
My stomach was just not feeling awesome
I couldn't even eat breakfast, I contemplated not going to my lab, but I was awake so I was going to go.

The lab was okay, we learned about forage quality, it wasn't too bad.

My seminar was cancelled, and I whet to the clinic as I was not feeling awesome, and then I had to go down to college heights to pick something up and I was very underdressed, I was so cold :(

Once back in res I spent some time on the couch not feeling awesome, eventually I started being productive, worked on my social geography visual geography assignment which is proving to be more difficult then expected.
I also worked on my wildlife ecology notes

I'm still not feeling awesome and I want to go to bed early, but res is bumping and going to sleep might be a tad difficult :(

The snow is sticking.....

The snow kind of ruined my evening plans and now im sad, I was looking forward to hanging out and eating a caramel apple, *sigh* stupid snow making the roads noy safe, snow should not be allowed in October. All in all today was not a bad day, wildlife ecology was alright, and after that I had plant Ecology which was horrible, it was 4 hours of presentation, it was never ending, it sucked, I thought I wasnt going to make it through, my back and neck hurt from sitting and I was so bored. After the presentations I was done class, and went back up to res with the intention of being productive, but that intention was not really met. I did however received a letter informing me that I would be receiving another Bursary for $500 which is awesome. It started snowing at around 3, I was not happy... It stuck :( Other than that my afternoon was not eventful....I was lazy and not feeling awesome, my neck is really bothering me :( Stupid presentations At 5:30 Katie and I caught the bus downtown to go to hummus brothers, we had a nice dinner by candlelight (apparently they were having come candlelight evening thing) we were the only non-couple there, we got to sit on a couch which was kind of cool, and very comfy. We finished dinner at an awkard time, so we had to wait an hour to catch the next bus, we went to the ramada and got starbucks, which was yummy and warm, but I should have got a Tall not a Grande, it was a lot of drink for me to consume after eating dinner. We eventually caught the bus up to the university and I had a nice phone chat with my mom and then Katie went down to the school and I tried to work on my Visual geographies assignment which is proving to be more difficult that I would have liked. My evening plans fell through do to the snow which has turned the roads into a crazy place and cars have been going off the roads, making me super nervous about the having to drive soon when I am house sitting, I'm not a fan of driving in the snow, and quite frankly I should not have to worry about snow at this time. I hope that it doesnt last and we get a few more weeks of clear roads. Anyways I guess I will just go to bed now as I have nothing to do and I am not in the mood to be productive. Also apparently the buses have stopped running so Katie and I may be having a house guest. the roads must be worse than I thought if the buses stopped. Night!

Pop and com midterm complete

Today was a longer very dragged out day
Geo of Canada and social geography felt very long, and then I had my pop and com midterm

I'm not sure how I feel about it, the calculations were pretty easy but the theoretical stuff was challenging

After pop and com Elaine and I started to work on our plant Eco critique and we worked on it for 6.5 hours, it took so much work and research and writing and rewriting, the feeling I felt after printing it, now we just have to put together our presentation for Tuesday.

Elaine left and now I plan on relaxing the rest of the evening, should be nice :)

Sex Ed!!!

Today was an okay day
Class from 930-1130, my tutorial had been cancelled, wildlife Eco was good, we got our lab exams back and I got 45.5/50, which I was pleased with.
Plant Eco sucked as per usual, but Elaine was a champ and managed to get us a presentation date for next Tuesday and there was only 3 spot available then, she is a total team player :)

After class it was time for groove and we uses finer lights which was cool, all in all it was a good class.

After class I had lunch, iced all the cupcakes to look like boobs and the penis cakes and then took a shower, studied and prepped for sex Ed

At 6, we started to set things up for sex Ed, the event went well, only took about and hour and had just over 20 people who signed in, but I think some people didn't sign in which makes me sad

After sex Ed I finally ate one of my caramel apples, and it was like a ball of sugar, but delicious. I don't think I'll he able to eat my other one, thankfully I called in some back up for the other one that will be consumed on Thursday

I then studied for pop and com and I think I should be going to bed soon, I'm tired as have my midterm tomorrow :(
I'm nervous for it, I don't know if I know enough... I guess I will find out tomorrow

Manic Monday

Just another Manic monday.... Last night I did not get a super awesome nights sleep, it took me longer than usual to fall asleep due to a game of settlers going on in the livingroom, but eventually I dozed off, and woke up just before 8 and just before my alarm I had a slow morning, but the usual morning stuff occurred, At about 9:30 Katie and I went to go dump out our compost and then I went down to the school to go to class and I was a sleepy Chanel, trying my best not to fall asleep in geography of Canada, but I managed to make it to the end and then Jenina and I went to Tim Hortons to get come beverages with caffeine as we were both in need of something that would prevent sleep. Social Geography was good as per usual, and then Pop and Com was good, I was more awake than usual in that class and I think I actually understand what we are learning, but sadly what we are learning will not be on the midterm on Wednesday.... After Pop and Com it was up to res, on my way up I called Erica who had called me while I was in class and began catching her up on life, once in res, I started putting together laundry and gave the phone to Katie so she could talk with Erica while I went to put my laundry in the washer, once back I began making cakes for sex Ed tomorrow and eventually the phone convo with Erica had to end which was sad, I miss that girl Katie and I spent the next little while making Penis cakes and cupcakes that will eventually become boobs, should be a fun day of icing things tomorrow. While baking I also printed notes and finished my laundry, at about 430 I realized that I had not even eaten lunch, but by then it was best just to wait until dinner. I made pasta with pesto sauce and it was alright, nothing super fantabulous, but it was good. After dinner i went down to the school with the intention of going to the lab to do nests, this did not happen, but I did study for pop and com so the night was not a total loss At 9 I met with Katie, Krista and Reesha to talk about sex Ed, and just plan out how things will run etc. I think it will go well tomorrow At 9:30 we had our RA meeting which likely could have been shorter but people were getting distracted which makes things take a bit longer, but we were still out by 10:30 All day I have been wanting to eat my caramel apple but I have not had time :( And now I think it is too late to eat it, so I guess I will have to wait another day to eat it... I hope it tastes as good as it looks and that waiting for a time when I can really enjoy it is worth it. I should probably hit the hay, it's getting late and I am hoping to have an early morning tomorrow....we will see Night!

The little sleep continues

Last night AJ ended up sleeping over, we stayed up chatting till 4am, and the me being a shitty sleeper I was up at 8, and we stayed in bed till 11 talking. It was a nice slow to start morning.

Once AJ left I showered, had breakfast and then I worked on my Canada journal, printed it. Then I finished my society and space proposal as imprinted that as well.


Shortly after two I got the Nissan leaf and went And picked up Elaine and we went to super store to do some grocery shopping. After dropping off Elaine I went a hot booster juice for Katie and I


I then ate a hodgepodge of dinner and went to the lab as I had not been good about going this weekend.i came back and at 8 Katie and I went to make caramel apples at Jenns they look so good but I didn't eat one yet.

Kris was over working on his Halloween costume and then Liz and Jeremy came over and the couples are going to play settlers and I'm going to go to bed. I've been functioning on like two hours of sleep so I need it

Sleepy sAturday

Up at 8
Nicole picked me up at 10:45 with her dogs Luna and Kenny, both adorable and friendly. We went out to her place and I met the cats and was shown around, told stuff about the wood stove and chopping wood. It's definatley more of a cabin than a house, it has a loft bedroom and no tv. It's very quaint and has a view of the river

After being shown around the house it was time for me to learn to drive standard. And her car was much easier than Dans truck, it was a bit stressful but I started getting the hang of it and we went to where she normally walks the dogs and took then for a walk.


Then it was back to driving, back to her house and we dropped off the dogs and then she told me that I was going to drive back to the university, it was about a 30minute drive and I only stalled once because I tried to start in 3rd, that doesn't work. The drive up was very stressful for me, I not good at shifting down :( I need practice

After that I had a quick lunch and then hit up the craft fair with Katie kris and Lindsey it was neat, I didn't buy anything, I creeped on the lab but it was occupied :( so I found Elaine to start working on our plant Eco critique.

By the time we started it was 330 and Elaine left at 8, and we only got the intro done, it was very stressful, stupid Juan Carlos didn't even post the marking rubric, which he was supposed to post on Friday :( he frustrates me

After Elaine left I made perogies, I got the idea from AJ. I then worked on my Canada journal and pop and com notes

I also invited AJ over for a pj party and to watch movies and eat junk food, should be fun, thought I should do this now rather than later

I have yet another busy day tomorrow, it's a stressful time

Such a frustrating day....

This morning for some reason I had my alarm set for 730, even though I did have class till 930, I dont know what I was thinking Got out of bed at 8 Got ready for class and went to wildlife Ecology and I was a tad bothered by the fact that my seat had been taken and as a result I had to sit in a different spot which did not have a very good view :( After that I had plant Eco, and we basically had the same lecture we had on Tuesday, it was so stupid and I was very frustrated with plant Ecology and I did not want to be in class, I am so not happy with my prof and it is something that I am not good at hiding. After the lecture we had our lab which was EVEN more frustrating, we got back our assignments and that just made me more frustrated.. The marking was so inconsistent and SUPER frustrating Not to mention we spent the lab trying tome up with a rubric for our critiques which was stupid, it just felt like a waste of time. After the pointless lab was over Elaine and I stayed back to talk to him about our assignments which resulted in him not listening, getting defensive and making us feel stupid, he didnt even let us ask the questions we wanted, he just took the assignments and started going through why we lost marks, and trying to justify why marks were lost, but he doesnt do the marking so he doesnt know, we ended up leaving or assignments with him and being so frustrated that we could even handle to be in his presence, he made me feel like an idiot, and I sent him and email to show that my data was not far off of his data which he implied that it was. It was just so frustrating, he doesnt listen and makes you feel stupid while still sounding nice.... After that Elaine and I studied for our wildlife Eco lab quiz for a number of hours until we could not study any more and I was starving and then ate too much too quickly so my tummy has been hurting since then I'm also on call so I cant go to bed early which sucks because I am tired and I want to sleep, but I'm up till after 11, because I have to do rounds :( I have also gone a in a downward spiral of productivity, I just lost it, stupid Plant Eco ruing everything, I wish I wasnt in that class, it's not a fair class, we are taught nothing but then everything is expected of us :( I guess I am done for now Night!

The Grand Adventures of Chanel Last Name

Things morning my alarm went off too soon, I was not happy about it, I rolled out of bed, got ready for class etc My classes were pretty average as was most of my day, My day got more interesting when I decided to join the Golden Key Society, as apparently it looks good on a resume, and while filling out my application I guess I did not realize that I did not enter my Last Name where is said last name, which resulted in my name being "Chanel Last Name".....which is not correct :( I think I fixed it, but with my luck that will be on the member ship card, haha Today KAtie and I also did a T-shirt making even and we tye-dyed t-shirts and I am so impatient I want to look at mine now, but it must rest. I think it is time for Chanel Last Name to go to bed as she has had a long day and is super tired, so tired that she ended up forgetting her last name, and leaving it as last name so Good Night, from Chanel Last Name Night!

It's late so a simple summary will have to suffice

- not enough sleep last night - stressfuk po and com tutorial reviewing for the midterm, I feel as though i know nothing - wildlife eco was cancelled, I forgot - I went to meeti with nicole to talk to her about house sitting and such as we planned to meet on saturday, yay - plant Ecology made me mad, got our midterms back, did okay but the marking was stupid - after plant eco went to groove with elaine -hit up the farmers market to get my salsa fix - back to res, killed time till mmeeting at 2:30 -had one on one with Jenn, more so just discussed programming, also brought up the fact that I would like to leave ASAP next semeseter - went to the school to go do a nest, the lab was full - studied pop and com waited for elaine to get out of her lab exam - went to the moose with elaine for dinner, yum - went to the lab a did a nest - got pissed at my plant Ecology mark :( on my assignment, will need to talk to him about that, and by talk I mean beat up -Liz picked me up so we could go a see pitch perfect - saw Katie and Kris and Kyla at the theater, they saw pitch perfect too - PITCH PERFECT WAS AWESOME - liz and I both agree we do not see enough of katie -i need sleep Night!

A whirlwind Monday

Today was an interesting day to say the least. Its started out normal. Woke up, got ready for class, I left early to go get the student award form that I need in order to start getting paid for my research, it was a pretty basic form, and I had to go and get a direct deposit form from the bank and I need to get Russ' signature on the form which may be a difficult one to get. I emailed him asking him when he will be in his office, but I haven't got a reply yet. I had class at 10, and it was an okayish class, rather boring and hard to follow as usual. After that I had my social geography class and we got our midterms back and guess who got 100%.....This Girl! I then went and bought a yogurt before my pop and com class, which was delicious. Pop and com was less delicious. After class I went to go print off posters for sex ed and study tip posters on brightly coloured paper. Katie came to help me, and then we went to the gym, and It was Katie's first time at the gym this year, YAY Katie! While at the gym Jenn texted me to inform me that I had the wrong date on my sex Ed posters so I had to change all of those :( Not so fun, but it's done. Once back from the gym Katie and I went down to college heights to get groceries and prescriptions and I need to get a direct deposit form too. I went to the bank, got my cheque cashed and got my direct deposit form. Then we went to shoppers to drop off prescriptions before going to save on to get groceries. I bought lots of yummy groceries and then we went back to get our prescriptions which were not ready, they took quite a while, we were waiting forever and ever, Katie got hers first and then she went to go get gift cards for Prizes for our floor for spoons, and I waited for mine, eventually it was ready but they screwed up and gave me 4 months instead of 3, so it ended up being quite expensive, which sucked, I wish they had my moms medical plan on file, then it wouldnt cost me so much up here. Once on the bus back up to res I checked my facebook and I had received a message from a Christopher Taylor asking if I would being willing to house sit for someone who lives just outside of PG and then gave me her contact info. I was so confused, I checked mutual friends and initially I only saw my brother so I texted my brother asking about this person, and then I realized through his mutual friends that he was my neoghbour from across the street back home, Chris, I was relieved to know that it wasnt creepy. I emailed this Nicole person when I got home and we are meeting tomorrow to discuss things and it's cool, she is willing to teach me hot to drive standard and to lend me her car for three weeks so I can watch her house, and she has two dogs and two cats :) I'm excited to meet her and talk things through. She works at the University and seems nice through email. It was a crazy thing to happen though, what are the chances. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out, I should have more info tomorrow, I'm a tad nervous with the whole possibility of learning to drive standard. Interms of school work, I was not productive today, I was just so taken aback by the whole house sitting thing out of the blue. I Had my RA meeting which went well and was an okay length, we also now have the meetings in the board room rather than in the common lounges which was interesting and kind of hard to see, but I guess we will get used to it. I now plan on hitting the hay. I'm tired and NEED to get a lot done tomorrow, should be a busy day! Night!

A two nest Sunday

Today was another day in which I did not set and alarm, and got out of bed at 9:30ish, and had some toast for breakfast, and a cup of salted caramel tea. I then got started studying for my wildlife ecology lab exam, I got through 3/5 labs, and then I was sick of being productivity so I watched quite a few movies like ever after, maid in Manhattan etc, so many movies were on tv this weekend and I think I watched all of them At around 3 I went down to the school to do nests. On my way out I noticed that someone had stolen my little turtle off the door, it was sad. As for the nests I was speedy, I ended up getting two done in two hours, and then my eyes were starting to bother me so I had to stop. Once back at res I started thinking about what I should have for dinner and ended up with curry and rice, and surprisingly my rice turned out okay, and my dinner was quite good. I also had to make myself a new little turtle for the door, and it doesnt look as good :( I then enjoyed some ice cream, and waited for Katie to to return. Eventually she did come home and shared with me the tales of her weekend away We are now watching Weeds and I will be hitting the hay early Night!

A somewhat productive Saturday

I set no alarm for this morning, but i woke up at 8:30 for no reason and got out of bed at around 10, I made breakfast and some pumpkin chai tea which I really enjoyed and then I began working on my Society and Space term paper proposal and I got a rough version of it completed which is good considering the proposal isn't due for over a week. Katie left me...again.... :( to go to Vanderhoof with Kris I then got to work on my canada Journal, I still need to write two pages for this week so I got that done, I am now up to 16 pages which is a good place for me to be considering we need to hand it in for the midterm review in just over a week, which means I should be at 18 pages by then which is good, it has to be a minimum of 25 pages when we hand the final copy in at the end of November. After working on that I procrastinated a bit, and had some lunch etc. At around 2:20 I went down to the lab to see if I could do a nest, but the lab was occupied so I had to come back later. Once back in res I planned out RA stuff, poster series and programs and such, I have things planned for this semester and even part of next semester, I feel like I am in a good place in terms programming and planning and such. I also have a meeting with Jenn on Tuesday to discuss my December/late November program which will be something like are you smarter than a 5th grader. Oh also I was trying to work out how to get the money from my Undergraduate research award, I need to fill out a form, but I dont know where this form is or how to go about getting it, hopefully I get that sorted out so I can start getting paid :) I also started filling out an application for an internship at the Critter Care Center in Langley, that is due in November so it's good that I am getting a head start on it now. I just need to get a reference and a reference letter. I killed time by doing RA planning and then made myself some dinner, potato wedges and a turkey burger, yum, and then after dinner and a cup of tea I went down to the school to do a nest and I managed to finish the nest in about an hour and half which is good, I think I am getting quicker at going through the dust looking for fleas, I find that the fleas stand out more to me now. I called my dad when I was leaving the lab because the building is creepy after dark, we had a nice chat. I let him know that I wanted setters of Catan for christmas and I asked him what he wanted. I know that it is only october but I figure it's better to think of these things earlier rather than later. After talking with my dad I didnt do much, watched tv, and relaxed, I'll probably go to bed soon, maybe make some warm milk and wind down for the evening. I need to have aproductive day tomorrow. I need to go a nest and study for my lab exam that I have friday, and also start studying for my pop and com midterm that I have a week from wednesday and maybe if I have the also work on my plant ecology critique with Elaine. Well I guess that's all. Another lonely night for me, Katie is spending the night in Vanderhoof and should be back tomorrow. Night!

It does not feel like friday... other than the fact I stayed up later than normal

I was up at 7, to get ready for my 8 am lab, and it was an interesting lab We got to watch the full necropsy of a mule deer and the partial necropsy of a wolf, it was interesting to watch though there were some moments I found nauseating. I didnt enjoy the skinning of the head of the deer or when the skin got basically peeled off of it's legs Needless to say the lab took the full 3 hours, and after that Elaine and I went and got yogurt, YUM and sat and chatted, we both had class at 11:30 so we have about 20 minutes to kill. I then went to my Society and Space seminar and todays seminar was about Poverty and it was okay, a bit dull I guess and not too much discussion when compared to previous weeks. After class I had planned on going to the lab to do a nest, but when I went there, two people were already doing nests so there was no spot for me, I would have to come back later. I went up to res and thought about all the things that I had to do, and then Katie and I talked a bit about sex Ed, and sorted out the powerpoints and such and then we went to go talk with Jenn about the program and such, there had also been some confusion between Jenn and I with regards to me doing Bulletin boards, I was unaware that I had to do them and we ended up deciding that rather than Bulletin boards I would do poster series to make it easier to get it in both buildings At 4:30 I left to go to the gym, crank n' core was at 5 and by the time I got there the class was almost full, I signed in myself and elaine, and we were the last people on the list before it was declared full. It was a rough workout, I got called out for not working hard enough... but not in a mean way, it was just mentioned that I wasnt going fast enough. After crank n' core I made myself dinner and called my Daddy to update him on life, and then I took a shower before heading down to the school to do a nest, there was no one in the lab, it was almost a bit creepy. It took me just under 2 hours to do the nest and I found 21 fleas, crazy..... Walking back to res was a bit creepy..... When I got back I texted Katie to see if she was returning home, and I did not get a reply until later, she was at Liz and Jeremys and she actually just came home now I would have been in bed already but I got distracted with RA stuff, I made 4 poster series and a newsletter, I'm set for awhile interms of posters and passive programs. I also made the Sex Ed posters which are amusing. I should really be going to bed soon, I'm sleepy and my neck is a bit sore.... I'll probably just chat with Katie for a bit and then go to bed. Night!

yet another lonely tired night

A quick summary, I am i no mood to type Another shitty nights sleep Class at 9:30 - Wildlife Ecology, got midterm back, got 92.5%, highest in the class Class at 10:30 Plant Ecology wrote midterm, it went okay 11:30 plant Ecology lab, got lectured bu some profs visiting from Sweden, huge waste of time, long lectures, wasnt into it, wish I hadnt gone Went to the gym with Elaine, didnt want to go, her and Kurt made me, I worked hard, sore, tired Took hot shower Didnt do much else that could be considered productive, going to bed early, hoping to sleep better Drinking warm milk, trying to relax, we will see how it goes Night!

Just Another lonley night

I had yet another horrible night, tossing, turning, waking up often, I just don't know what is wrong with me, why can't I sleep well, it seems like such a simple and easy thing to do, so why can't I do it? I gave up on sleep and got out of bed just after 8, I had heard Katie return from Kris' and I figured there was no point in my continuing to try and sleep when It hadnt been working for around 3ish hours there was no point in trying any more. I had my geo of Canada class at 10, and we had a short lecture and then went over the answers to the quiz before getting our assignments back and I was very pleased with my 14.75/15, I'd be happy with that mark any day in any class, After that I have my midterm in Society and Space and it was an experience, like no midterm I have ever written, there was a lot of choice and no real indication as to what each answer should include, I don't know how to guess at how I did, so I guess I will just hope for the best and see what happens. My pop and com class was hard to get through as per usual, I was so tiredm But Elaine brought cheesecake, which was delicious and made things better. We also go our first assignment back and I got 9.3/10, which is not a bad mark so I was okay with that After class Elaine and I met up with Kurt and Hayden to talk about our plant Ecology experiment and we reached the consensus that we have no idea what we are doing and we are going to ask about it tomorrow after the midterm/quiz. After that i was going to go and do a nest, but I was so tired and i had a midterm to study for an assignment to finish so I was a bad undergrad and didnt go, instead Elaine convinced me to go to the gym, telling me that I would feel more energized..it was a rough work out and I wasnt really energized after it, I came back to res and made veggie stir fry and potato wedges. Kris came over and we worked a bit on his halloween costume and then we watched face off, we watched a few episodes and the Liz and Jeremy came over and the couples went to the moose for wings, and I stayed home because I dont have the money to spend and I didnt feel much like hanging out with two couples at the pub. I thought that they were going to come back and watch face off with me, but instead they came back and ended up going to Liz and Jeremys to play Settlers of Catan, and I was invited, but I had to study and I am stupidly tired due to my lack of ability to sleep so needless to say I didnt go. I reviewed the plant Ecology notes, though I dont think I retained anything. Then I took a long hot shower in hopes that it would relax me before going to bed. I don't think it worked, I'm not relaxed, I'm stressed and tired and lonely and a little sad, and all I want to be able to do is have a good nights sleep, but sadly I dont think it will happen Night!

Back to class, the long weekend is over

Where did the long weekend go? I swear only yesterday it was friday, turns out it's now Tuesday I was up at 7, and got ready and went to my pop and com tutorial early to go over ildlife Ecology some more before my midterm at 9:30. The tutorial went okay, and then it was time for my midterm and I was not feeling awesome about it, but there was nothing I could do, it was time to write the exam It was what I expected, I think I got anywhere between 69-82%ish on the test which is quite a range, apparently she will have them back to us on Thursday so I will know soon enough how I did on it. After that I had plant Ecology and we spent the class going over our expectations for the critiques that we have to do in the weeks to come. After class I went to Groove with Elaine from 12-1 and then we went to ask our pop and com prof some questions about the assignment that is due tomorrow and it turns out we were over thinking the question, which was making it far more difficult that it needed to be. After that I went and worked on the assignment and Katie and I cleaned out room which was a good thing to do, things were getting a bit gross, we needed to vacuum and such and we got it all done and now our place is nice and clean, YAY! At 3:30 I met with Fabris and Taylor to review for our society and space midterm tomorrow and I am not too worries about it, I will probably go over my notes one more time and then just go for it, I dont think it will be too bad, I find the class interesting and seem to be retaining the material necessary. We only studied until 4:30 and then I went back to res and made myself an open faced hot turkey sandwich and some crispy turkey skin, super delicious but super bad for me. Katie and Kris came home and started making pizzas for dinner and Elaine came over so we could go over the pop and com assignment one last time. After dinner Katie and I made a healthy eating bulletin board in under and hour and it turned out okay, we also distributed the compost buckets. There is a compost Audit happening in res so see how much compost is produced by res so they can upgrade the compost system and implement composting in res permanently, which would be awesome, sadly I wont be in res to see it happen but I get to plat a small role in actively participating in the Audit. Liz and Jeremy came over and we ended up playing two games of settler, Jeremy won one and I won the other :) I am getting better at actually winning at settlers. Then all four left me, Liz and Jeremy went home and Katie and Kris went down to Kris'. So I get to be all alone once again, and Katie is leaving this weekend too :( her and Kris are going to vanderhoof. I was planning on getting up early tomorrow to go and do nests, but I havent been sleeping well, and I think I'm going to try and sleep in a bit, and hopefully feel less tired and less stressed and I can save the nest for the afternoon since I am done at 2:20 tomorrow, which means I should be able to do one nest and still make it home to have dinner and a reasonable time. I am still feeling very stressed about things, I have a lot to do this semester, I have nests to go through, sex ed to plan, two midterms to write, two assignments to do all just in this week alone. I also still have no idea what I am doing after I graduate, I think I am going to apply for an internship at the Crittercare center in langley because I think that would be an awesome experience and that I would learn a lot. I really dont even know how to go about figuring what to do after I graduate, and I do realize that I have time, I don't need to be in a career as soon as I am done school, but part of me feels like I have to. I guess I have trouble accepting that even if I don't know what I am doing with my degree, at least I have one and I have options and things to try and experience, I could be in a far worse position, i could still be working my highschool job, and have little job prospects in my future, so things could be worse. Along with being stressed, I'm also a bit lonely, like I'm always the third wheel or the fifth wheel or sometimes I feel like I'm a Unicycle, like now, feels good to let it out, and I think I need to go to bed and try and get a good nights sleep, I really hope I dont wake up randomly throughout the night, I just need to Relax! Night!

Is no longer alone.....

Today it was nice to not have class, I was up at 8, and had to go over to Keyoh and wake up Lee to leave the on call phone with so I could go into the lab and do some nests, I got one nest done and it took me almost 3 hours while I was doing the nest Janine came into the lab to do some nests and we chatted and she kind of got me thinking about my future and the fact that I have no idea what I am doing with my life and i turned into a ball of stress.... I continued to be a ball of stress and my vision has been messed up, I find it hard to focus and i think it is from starring at white bristol board looking for fleas in piles of dust, which is like looking for a needle in a hay stack.... I was somewhat productive and got some stuff done, but eventually I reached the point where I couldnt focus anymore so I started watching weeds, and Jenina came over for pumpkin pie and tea, which was lovely we, we finished watching season 4 of weeds together. I tried to study after that for my midterm tomorrow and did not do so well. I am nervous for tomorrow but there isnt much I can do now Katie FINALLY came home so I am not alone, and I think I need to rest and maybe things will be clearer in the morning Night!

At 5 it was res giving and there was so much food that I am stilled stuffed as I haven't eaten in 6 hours.

I just spent the past 4 hours I was playing settlers of catan with jeremy and Liz, the bought it and the barbarians expansion, it was fun, I won 3/5 games

I'm on call and things have been quiet, but it is far past my bed time so sleep time is now

oops, I got forgot

I guess my blog just slipped my mind yesterday, so I will provide the blog world with an update of what happened yesterday I was up at 6:30 and i was still pitch black outside which was depressing, at round 7:30 I went down to the school and into the lab to go through my first nest, I couldnt find all of what I needed but I was able to improvise for what I couldnt find, and it took me over two hours to do one nest, it's going to be a time consuming process, I would have done another nest, but I had some questions I wanted answered first before I went on with the nests. After that I was back at res and did home work and watched weeds until about 2, when Elaine came up to res to work on our pop and com assignments, and we got all the questions done that we could, there was one question that neither one of us could figure out so we emailed our prof who has yet to respond. At 3 Elaine, Jenina and I went to the mall to look for halloween stuff and to kill some time, it was fun, and then we went to super store which was good, i bought milk and a mini pumpkin pie :) After our adventures, which we in the nissan leaf btw. We had also decided to go out for all you can eat sushi which was delicious, I ate way too much, as per usual, and we missed the bus so we went and hung out and Elaine's place until the next bus came, Once back up in res I didnt do much, I watched some tv, and went to bed after 11, and to keep the tradition Night!

The Friday on the Long weekend

This morning i was up at 7 and felt a bit rushed as I was preparing to be at the school for a lengthy amount of time. I had my lab at 8 am and that was okay, we learned about trapping, and got to play with some traps which was fun After my lab I went to the IT desk to ask if they could help me with my computer troubles, and they gave me the name of a place in town where I could take it to get it looked at. I then ate some food before my Social Geography Seminar, and it was an okay seminar, after that my plan was to go to the lab and try to see how long it would take for me to go through my first nest, but when I got there Janine, was already going through a nest, and I didnt want to disturb what she was doing so I stood around awkwardly for a bit and then decided that I would come back in the morning (early) and set myself up a place to go through nests, and then I will go through my first nest. I hope no one will be in that lab on the weekend, I really just want to get comfortable in the space with no one in it, that way I can look like a fool and no one will know. Since my nest plan failed I was able to say goodbye to Katie before she left, and I called the computer place, but they were not helpful. And then I went to go turn on my computer and magically it was fine, and I didnt do anything, it was just sitting on the table, and it decided to work. Computers confuse me. Katie Left and I began being productive, I worked on my pop and com assignment, my canada journal, my plant eco lab assignment, my social geo proposal, and then at 4:15 I went to the gym to go to a crank n' core class with Elaine and the class kicked me but, everything was burning, and now I am so sore. I went back to res and made myself dinner, I made a Quesidilla, and I also made a cabbage and carrot cheesy caserole, which ended up being quite delicious, I took a shower, and I plan on going to bed soon, I have to be up super early tomorrow Night!

Time is still flying

Today was a pretty good day
Had two hours of class, and my lab was cancelled and instead I went to the library to work on my lab assignment and I got the majority I the assignment done which was nice

After that I has lunch, complete with Walter McLellans seafood chowder (mad by me) and corn on the cob.

At 2 I went to the gym with Elaine and had a good work out, I'm so sore and will continue to get sore. After the gym I did some wildlife ecology studying and killed time.

I spent my evening watching weeds with Katie and kris, then Liz and Jeremy came over and we watched face off, which is an awesome show.

I plan on taking a super speedy shower tonight and then going to bed,

Time is flying.

This morning I was up at 8, just before my alarm went off. I had breakfast and killed time until heading down to the school a bit early to work on my geo of Canada assignment a bit before class.
In class we finished watching black robe, and it was a dull and in some ways offensive, I was not a fan of the movie and I was glad that it was over, and then I had to write my personal response to the movie.

My social geography class was good and interesting, we were talking about crime which is an interesting topic.

After that i went to pop and com and had lunch before class, my yogurt has leaked a bit, but luckily I was smart and had it in a ziploc bag
Pop and con was rough as usually, we also got our second problem set assigned, which is not awesome because I have enough to do already.


After class I picked my my good food box, 20 pounds of fresh local veggies and 2 pounds of local chicken. There were awesome veggies in the box like corn and kale.
I had a productive afternoon, completed todo list, made seafood chowder, roasted corn in the oven and cooked up some of my chicken and the corn and chicken were soo good.

I met up with Jenn to get stud for res giving on Sunday, there is now one turkey in our normal fridge and I have one in my mini fridge haha, I guess my fridge isn't that mini.

My computer is still messed up and I have asked Daniel to mail me up my old dell and I will look into getting it fixed, by calling around to see what places can do it and how much it would cost to fix it.

I'm also on call tonight which means I have to stay up past 11, and I'm sleepy. At 11 I am meeting up with Christina for rounds and then I will be off to bed and have hopefully a quiet night.

If only my computer wasnt having issues, I'd be having an excellemt time

I only had two hours of class today because I didn't have a pop and con tutorial at 8;30 which was nice. My wildlife ecology class was interesting as my plant ecology class happened, but I am not sure as to what we were supposed to learn, I don't get much out of that class

After class I went up to res to have a quick snack and then went to meet Elaine so we could do groove together, and it was a good groove class :) lots of jumping, very tiring.
After the class I went to res, changed, has another snack and then went to have a meeting with Russ about protocols for going through nests and I also found out I got the undergraduate research award which means I will actually get some money for my mindless repetitive work which will be nice. I also got a key to the lab which is cool, I feel like I have power haha

After that I hung out with Liz and we went to London drugs to get an hdmi cable, it was a $80 cable that Liz got for 9$ which is awesome.
Once home I hooked up my laptop to the tv and discovered that I think I will have to get it fixed, my vision is started to get blurry from looking at either my shakey screen or at the tv screen. It makes me sad, I'll have to find a place to take it to get fixed.

I will be off to bed soon, and have a busy day tomorrow, I need to start being more
Motivated and productive since I now have to commit time to research and balance everything, should be fun......

My computer sucks!

Today I had a meeting at 9 for the panama field school, it was sort of an interview, it went well

At 10 I had my geography of Canada class where we ate watching a film called black robe which is a rather dull movie in my opinion, at the end of the class we got back our quizzes and before he handed them out he informed us that he had given everyone an extra 3.25 marks out of 20, so I ended up with 17.75/20 which is an acceptable mark considering I didn't do any of the readings

After that I had social geography with Jim window which was awesome as per usual.

Then I ate lunch while waiting for pop and com. Pop and com was dull and hard to get through. But I made it and handed in the first only 5 assignments, yay!

After class I rushed to catch the 230 bus so I could go to the bank and prove that I was a student again so they wouldn't charge me bank fees, it was sorted out quickly.

At 430 I had to go and thin our my plant Eco assignment with Kurt, which only took about 20minutes

Once back in my room I went to turn on my computer and knew something was wrong when the start up screen was green instead of black and the screen was pixely and moving. I texted Daniel who called me and told me to google it since he wasn't home, I tried to fix it and failed so I texted Matt who called me and eventually he remotely connected to my computer and tried to sort it out, we discovered that it must be a loose wire that connects to my screen which in a way sucks because I will have to deal with a fucked up screen until December when I can go home and he can fix it for me hopefully, the good thing is that my computer minus the screen appears to be fine.

After spending some time typing on my messes up screen it was eventually time for the RA meeting. It was an okay meeting an now it's time for bed.

I hope technology related things go better for me tomorrow
